HS8
The HS8 is a modular tablet handling system that extends the functionality of a standard 8M tablet hardness tester with semi-automatic testing of weight, thickness, diameter and hardness (break force) of tablets, oblong and other solid medication shapes. Test samples are oriented manually on a carousel and all measuring is executed without any further operator interaction. Test reports including statistical analysis can be printed automatically after completion of a test. Saves time and money
The operator places the tablets to be tested on the tablet carousel and presses the start button. The HS8 picks up test samples individually and delivers them automatically to each of the 4 measurement stations. Two samples are measured in parallel (thickness/weight and diameter/hardness).
Simple operation
Operating the HS8 is simple. Test menus, test parameters and results are shown on the LC display of the integrated 8M. Products can be programmed either via the standard panel or by connecting a keyboard for fast data entry.
On completion of a test run, a comprehensive test report is printed automatically. Each report shows all product and test parameters, the calibration date and individually measured values with statistical analysis.
Paperless reporting with PC software
The optional "TabStat Light" PC software makes data collection and analysis easy and reliable. Data export to other programs such as Microsoft Excel is simple and done with just a few mouse clicks. The software fully complies with 21 CFR, Part 11 requirements - particularly those pertaining to electronic signature and user access levels.
Contact-free thickness measurement
Tablet thickness is measured by a contact-free laser sensor. Weight measuring is done with an accuracy of 0.1mg using an integrated weighing module. In a last step, the test sample is placed between the jaws of the 8M to measure diameter and hardness (break force). The unique transport system guarantees correct tablet orientation at all times.
Custom tablet carousels
Unconventional tablet shapes such as diamond, polygon or heart are no problem for the HS8. On request we manufacture custom-made tablet carousels and slotted pieces to suit any tablet shape. This means that tablet orientation is guaranteed at all times, irrespective of their shape. As a standard, two carousels for round tablet shapes are included with each machine (max. diameter up to 16 mm / 30 mm).
Upgrade your existing 8M
The HS8 can be retro-fitted to existing 8M tablet hardness testers. Assembly is carried out at our factory by qualified service personnel. All 8M functions are retained with the added benefit of automatic transport and measurement.
Documentation and calibration
Each HS8 is calibrated, verified and tested according to strict quality procedures before it leaves our factory. An internal test report is included with each tester.
Regular calibration and verification using traceable weights is recommended to ensure accurate results at all times. To quickly check the hardness measuring functionality of the integrated 8M before a test is performed, function checking devices (FCD) with a rating of 5Kp, 10Kp, 15Kp and 20Kp can be used.
