Use the 6D (SG) to test individual samples or batches of up to 100 capsules for deflection or burst strength. Four different operation modes allow for non-destructive or destructive testing.

The operator can select from 4 modes of operation:

• Force required to compress a programmed percentage of (uncompressed) deflection (and hold for defined period of time)
• Force required to compress a pre-selected distance (mm/inch) and hold for a defined period of time
• Amount of deflection for a pre-selected force (and holding the position for a defined period of time)
• Force required to burst the capsule (= regular hardness test)

The first 3 test modes are non-destructive if set values are achieved, as they test deflection without bursting the capsule. The test has failed if the capsule bursts during deflection testing.

Enclosing the capsule in a small plastic bag during the test enables the operator to minimize the cleaning effort while maintaining the accuracy of the results.

Each 6D(SG) softgel tester is calibrated, verified and tested according to strict quality procedures before it leaves our factory. An internal test report is included with each tester. The accuracy of the 6D(SG) is easy to maintain and you can calibrate or verify the instrument yourself in a matter of minutes using traceable weights and gauge blocks.

Specially designed mechanical tablets are available to perform a quick check to ensure your tester is within calibration specifications. They are available in force units of 5Kp, 10Kp, 15Kp and 20Kp.
